2011 Cooper Van Vliet

2011 ATV MX Nationals- Coolum

What an adventure we had for the Australian Quad Titles held up in Coollum for
2011

I set off in our great bus with my brother Harrison and mum and dad. Mitch and
Jake flew up as they had to work, which would have been a lot of fun. The bus
was still fun though.

I got to represent Victoria and the 90cc Junior Competition class, which had lots
of riders in it. I raced with my friends Kal and Aido so that was fun too.

We had lots of fast riders in the class so it was hard work keeping up with the
leaders but I tried my best.

The Sheridan brothers let me race with a go pro so I got to film all my races.
Hopefully you will be able to watch them all. They watered the track before my
race so I got a bit of mud on the camera sorry.

I had a great person help me on the start line for each race. Tiny from Tasmania
who is part of the Can Am X Team came to the start line every race and helped
me out which was really cool. Thanks Tiny even though your tall.

In the end I came 13th but I had the best time so that was good.

SHELL ADVANCE GIPPSLAND REGIONS ROUND 9 YARRAM

Well the Gippsland Regions are done and dusted and once again I rode my butt
off to win the championship.

Round 9 was at Yarram and I had a blast on my Can Am pushing it to its limits.

I had to race against the Junior 300cc class and it was my aim not to get lapped
which on such a short track was a real challenge.

This was my 2nd last race on my canam as Im going up to the Junior 300 class
next year which Im really looking forward to.

The last event is the QRCV Christmas party, which is a fun event at the end of
November where I get to race with and have some fun with my friends.

Presentation night for the Gippies is on the 12th November so Im looking forward
to that to receive the Junior 90cc championship.

Its been a great year and I have had a ball.

Look out for my photos to come

Thanks
Supa Coopa

VAN VLIETS BIG RETURN for 2011

With the first round of the QRCV series under his belt Rob Van Vliet proved he
was no stranger to the racing scene.

Rob had six months off after taking to hand with an angle grinder returning to
the field up in sunny Shepparton.

It was 3 races with 3 holeshots and 3 straight wins that proved he hasn't lost it.

Rob commented " My Can Am had the cobwebs blown out in practice and never
missed a beat handling the flat tight turns and jumps with ease"

Then it was up to his 2 sons to battle it out in the Pro race with 15 minute races.

Both Mitch and Jake aboard their Can Ams set out to see who was the fittest with
Adam ( Grizzly ) Siemensma out for the kill.

Jake had a big get off pinning himself under the quad only to get back on board
and finish the race.

Mitch had a bit of bad luck with a break down but proved once again that his
style over a double ski jump is still there as he took to the air over the double
that no 2 wheelers have attempted.

Adam showed to everyone he still has the touch as he took to the lead on several
occasions.

With all 3 riders holding down a first place it was Jake who managed to hold the
lead taking overall 1st place with Adam in 2nd and Mitch in 3rd.

And as for Super Cooper, well he threw his quad around, railed the berms and
had the little quad pegged all the way around the long track. After hitting the
bumps and leaving the track on 2 wheels young Cooper still managed to pull off
first place in the 90cc Modified class with a big grin on his face.
