Jake Van Vliet #111

G,day, my name is Jake Van Vliet and I have just been given the fantastic opportunity to ride for the Can-Am X Team in 2010. I am 16 years old and I live in Narre Warren North, Victoria. I am really excited about racing in Expert this year and it's really good to have my older brother Mitch who races Pro Class to help me out with training and tips at the track.

I've been riding since the age of 3 and racing since the age of 5 on two wheelers. I managed to get a few podiums at the Vic titles on my 2 Wheeler but then I saw the light and I turned from the evil side (ha ha ha) across to quads at the age of about 12. I started on an LT 80 and then got sponsored by E-ton Australia. After that I raced in the blaster class on a blaster then migrated to a raptor. On the last year of my junior career I actually won the 2009 Victorian Titles, which was a great way to finish my Junior racing.

In 2010 I am aiming to ride in all the QRCV Club rounds along with the Tri State Series and the Shell Advance Gippsland Regional Championships. A visit to WA and to Finke will also be on my agenda, which I can't wait for.

To get a sponsorship on my first year of senior racing is a huge deal for me. I hope to have a very successful year and to get as many podiums as I can. I look forward to learning more about the DS 450's and so far I think the DS is a really smooth, fast, reliable and comfortable quad to ride. Its also really good having Quad Squad backing me because Adam knows every little detail about setting these bikes up exactly how I like them.

Stay tuned to this website to see all my updates, my race reports will be posted here and please This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it if you have any questions about racing.
