Hi my name is Chad McKay. I have been a member of the Australian Can-am X-team since the beginning of 2009 and I am stoked that I have been given another opportunity to race with the team in 2010.

I am 21 years old, have ridden Quads for most of my life, but have only been seriously racing professional quad motocross for the past 5 years. I live in Perth, Western Australia and work as a diesel mechanic in my families business, McKay Drilling.

I have only ever competed in Western Australia before apart from the 2008 and 2005 nationals. Our state rounds see some tough competition from Ant Yewers, Ryan Lancaster and Chris Brenton plus a whole lot more of young guys that are coming up. This year, like in 2009, I will be competing over east a fair bit too, thanks to the Can-am X-team. I will have a race bike that will live in Melbourne at Quad Squad this year and fly over to compete in all the tri state rounds, Vic state titles and QLD state titles. I am really looking forward to this opportunity as I will get to race against some new guys, travel Australia racing, learn a lot about the DS450XMX from Can-am and hopefully have some good results on these fantastic bikes. The decision to sign with Can-am came late in 2008 after discussions with Mick Andrewartha of 47industries (X-team Manager) following the 2008 ATV MX Nationals. Now with a very successful year on the team behind me, I have some big goals for racing Nationally in 2010 and I am very determined to reach them. I want to win championships, tri state, Western Australia, Vic and the Nationals this year. I also want to learn as much as I can about the new DS450 X MX and learn more about setting up the bikes which I will be able to do with the help of my X-team mates and Quad Squad who will be setting up, testing and developing my bikes again this year. I have been training very hard and will continue to improve my training as the year goes on to reach my performance goals. As a long term goal I am aiming to end up racing in the US and make a living racing quads. Finally I look forward to the 2010 season with my team and will hopefully be posting some good race reports up on this web page, so keep checking back.
